I have been a member of the College of Idaho wind ensemble all four years. I have also been the president of the Psi Chi International Honor Society for Psychology for the last two years.

Mia Maldonado

Born and raised in north Idaho, I have lived in Idaho my entire life, but I have only been a resident of the Treasure Valley since 2018 at the start of college. This May I will graduate with majors in International Political Economy and Spanish. As a heritage speaker of the Spanish language, I grew up speaking Spanish in a casual, household setting. Nonetheless, I am passionate about working with my fellow Latinx community, and it is a long-term goal to improve my Spanish language comprehension and speech. I am excited to share my research project which I originally explored under the guidance of Professor Elena Bonmati Gonzalvez last spring during her Transatlantic Literature course. This year I developed my project further with hopes to present at the SRC. I could not have completed my project without the support of Professor Elena and Professor Jennie who continuously read draft after draft, and ultimately guided me to present a project that I am proud to share.

I am graduating in Biomedical Sciences in May 2022, and I plan to continue doing scientific research and attend graduate school in research genetics. I ultimately want to contribute to the development of genetics therapeutics and to develop the scientific research field in Angola. I have been working on brain cancer research for almost a year under Dr. Daniels' supervision and I've gained a lot of insight and skills for molecular and cell biology. Laura Staropoli is currently completing her bachelor's in Psychology at the College of Idaho. She was a four-year student-athlete on the women's soccer team. After experiencing chronic pain in her athletic career, she became interested in how pain experiences affect mental health. Her honors quantitative project allowed for the exploration of this relationship. This spring she will be continuing her education at Idaho State University's accelerated BSN program.

He has participated on the Ski Team, the rugby club, as well as the public sphere club and the chemistry club. He enjoys getting out into the mountains whenever possible, whether it's to hike or to ski. Christopher plans to study abroad in China after graduation. He also intends to go to graduate school and ultimately pursue a career in teaching at a university.

King is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies to become a hydrologist or a natural resource management specialist. Following graduation, King plans to pursue a master's degree in hydrology or sustainable resource management. In the meantime, she is looking for opportunities to work under the supervision of professional hydrologists and natural resource management specialists. King is also the president of TERRA, a sustainability club at C of I that organizes and hosts events to promote sustainability practices on campus.
