Mathematics Major

Consists of 32 credits:

Note: Students interested in graduate work in mathematics are strongly encouraged to take MAT-451 Real Analysis and/or MAT-461 Algebraic Structures.

Mathematics-Physics Major

Consists of 40 credits, of which 18 must be upper division in either mathematics or physics. Independent study is required as well as two of the following four courses:

NOTE: Students interested in graduate work in physics are strongly encouraged to take PHY-241/241L, all upper-division physics courses and MAT-431 Complex Variables. Some facility with general-purpose programming is strongly urged.

Mathematics Minor

Consists of 12 upper-division credits in mathematics.
