Student Affairs

The Student Affairs Division at Albertson College of Idaho “enhances student learning and personal development by creating conditions that motivate and inspire students to devote time and energy to educationally-purposeful activities, both in and outside the classroom” (American College Personnel Association, The Student learning Imperative, 1994, p.1). We do this by fostering a community that is civically minded, safe and inviting; and by using methods that are professional, innovative and affective.

Vision Statement

Through our programs and services we provide developmentally appropriate and supportive opportunities that challenge our students to be Reflective, Responsible, and Resourceful and fulfill the college mission to become “a life long member of a nurturing community”.

Members of the Student Affairs staff are student advocates who provide special services. Some areas in which they are involved include: personal and career counseling; campus safety; health services and medical referrals; study skills; disabled student services; part-time and summer employment; residence life; student activities; campus ministry; minority affairs; and, new student orientation. If you have questions, ideas, concerns, or would just like to talk, stop by the Student Affairs office. The Dean of Student Affairs oversees all student services, and is available to help solve student dilemmas. The Dean of Student Affairs’ office is located in the McCain Center; other Student Affairs staff offices are located in the McCain Center and Hendren Hall.

Student Affairs Offices

The Student Affairs Offices, located primarily in the McCain Student Center and in Hendren Hall, provide a variety of services and resources for students including career counseling, internship and off-campus experience placement, student health, student activities, personal counseling, study skills assistance, campus ministry, minority and international student affairs, residence life and campus safety. Student Affairs staff members invite and encourage students to drop by and share questions, concerns or ideas about campus life or how to get involved on campus.
