The Environmental Studies Core (36 Credits)

Courses marked with an asterisk (*) can count toward the Liberal Arts Core requirements.

The Core introduces essential concepts in environmental studies, foundational approaches to the study of the environment, and the specific ways in which environmental studies are practiced in various disciplines. Courses in the core should be taken as early as possible. (See course descriptions in the relevant sections of the catalog.)

Introduction to Environmental Studies (3 cr.)

Environment, Ecology, and the Sciences (8 cr.)

Environment and Natural Systems (7-8 cr.)

Important note: ENV-160 and ENV-260 with labs (Environmental Science) will substitute for CHE-136, 136L; BIO-122, 122L; and GOG-150. The ENV-160/260 sequence will begin Fall 2007.
