Normal Load and Overload

A normal load for undergraduate students is from 12 to 15 credits in the fall and spring semesters, and from 5 to 7 credits in the winter session. Higher loads are permitted, with signed permission from the major advisor, for students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, no outstanding marks of Incomplete, and no overload may exceed 18 credits in the fall and spring semesters, or 9 credits in winter. Students who have accrued 90 or more credits and have a graduation application on file in the Registrar’s Office are exempt. All other exceptions to this rule may be considered by the Vice President for Academic Affairs or by the Curriculum Council.
