ECO-271 Principles of Microeconomics 3 credits
Prerequisites: MAT-123.1 or MAT-151 (MAT-151 is preferred) and sophomore standing.
An introduction to economic analysis which includes a brief historical overview of the evolution of the market economy and an investiga- tion of basic microeconomic priciples and the historical context within which they were first developed.
ECO-272 Principles of Macroeconomics 3 credits
Prerequisites: ECO-271 and sophomore standing or instructor permission.
An introduction to macro- economic analysis. The course investigates the problems of unemployment, inflation, business cycles and international trade, among other macro- economic problems.
