Presentation: performance
Over the course of the last two years, for my honors thesis in Art and for my senior show, I have worked with Antiquarian Processes in photography, including wet plate collodion. I have also conducted studies in American photo history. For the Conference, I shall present a section from my final thesis, dealing with contemporary fine art photography, which contextualizes fine art photography through a process based lens. Both digital and analog approaches to photography will be dealt with in this talk. Furthermore a demonstration of wet plate collodion photography will be performed, and a plate will be created in front of the audience, with an explanation of this historical process, which has seen much popularity in the contemporary art world.
