The City of Caldwell hired a consulting firm in the Fall 2014 to assist in the branding of the City of Caldwell. The desire is to increase visitors to Caldwell. To complement the City effort the C of I Marketing Research class developed a survey to gain information about C of I students’ activities and transportation preferences to go to Downtown Caldwell. The primary objective was to identify if College of Idaho students go to downtown Caldwell. The secondary was to obtain information about students' interest in a bike rental program or shuttle service. A total of 323 responses to the survey were collected. According to this data 56% of respondents reported to have traveled to Downtown Caldwell more than once a month, 67% of these students who traveled downtown did so for food. Regarding transportation, 84% of respondents have either a car or a friend to carpool with. When asked about how students would like to receive information about Downtown Caldwell, 52% indicated that social media would be the most effective.
