I think of this body of work to be a collective self-portrait that shows the human experience through the lens I have viewed the world. The human experience is difficult to navigate for everyone, and we often don’t notice when other individuals are struggling. I have often struggled expressing feelings and emotions throughout my life, and I have especially struggled putting those feelings into words. Help Me, I’m Dying! is a collective grouping of illustration, photography and typography that works through a deeper exploration of my own personality and emotions. Every piece is schematic and offers and ebb and flow through the gallery to play into the overall themes of the show. This body of work is essentially an interpretation of my own selfperception.
